about

Another song about two people who are unable to be together, in this case it is more of an acceptance of the situation, we can’t make it work but sometimes that is just how it goes. The chorus can take on a broader meaning, to just in general somethings are never the same, the idea that if you try and replicate or reboot something it never really matches the original regardless of what it is.

lyrics

I sat on a train with Miranda, talkin’ all night, but
something was missing, something wasn’t right.
She just wasn’t you.
There was nothing she could do.

There’s no one to blame.
There’s no one to blame.
Some things are never the same.

She said all the right words, did all the right things, but
I never saw the need for diamond rings.
It’s only you on my mind, cause
you're always hard to find.

There’s no one to blame.
There’s no one to blame.
Some things are never the same.

Nothing is going to change between you and I,
there's more than one good reason why.
But that don’t stop the rain,
That keeps on falling from this pain.

There’s no one to blame.
There’s no one to blame.
Some things are never
Some things are never
Some things are never the same.
